Last week everyone had a chance to get into the library to check out books. I had some great chances to introduce students to some books that they will hopefully enjoy reading. There were some great conversations about books. I hope you will continue to encourage your students to read books that are appropriate for improving their reading.
I am sure that everyone is well aware that Dr. Henrie will be visiting on Wednesday.
Bluebonnet Voting
Just a reminder that we will be voting for our favorite Bluebonnet book at the end of this month. If you have a chance you may want to read some of the shorter books to you class to help the to meet the requirement of reading five books to vote.
This week Fifth grade will research various topics related to the American Revolution. They will be in the library working Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. There will be a few times that you will be able to sign up for check out on those days. There will be lots times on Thursday & Friday to sign up for check out. Computer Lab/Technology
Fifth grade will be using the computer lab on Monday to publish their writing.
I am still working on getting the schedule together, if you haven't sent me your lab time please send it to me today.Want to incorporate some technology into your classroom? Try the activities on scholastic.com under the student tab. Also, you can download streaming video to your desktop from Discovery Learning. In most cases the the picture is clear enough for students see if they gather around. I am working on getting an additional projector for classroom use.
