I feel like I have been talking about it FOREVER! Marc Brown will be here on Wednesday. He will start autographing around 12:30. I have volunteers that will come around to your classroom & get the children that have purchased a book, bring them to the library, get their book signed & return them to your classroom. He will start his presentation around 1:30. I will put more detailed information in your box.
If you have any Arthur activities or work that your students have done please get it displayed so that Marc Brown can see the great things our kids have done. Don't forget I have some brand new Arthur & Buster books that you can share with your kids. If you haven't had time to any activities with any of brown's books it's not too late. If you would like for your class to make a WELCOME poster that would be great. If you need a quick activity I have a fairly simple idea involving a bubble map & using the website. I would be happy to let you know all about it.
Due to the Marc Brown visit, all of the details for the signing & setting up for the presentation I will not see classes in the library on Wednesday. Thanks for your understanding & cooperation.
The book fair will be next week, October 18 -22. You will be able to sign up for browsing & buying sessions. As always you can send students who have money on an individual basis. If you would like you can challenge your students to bring change to collect in your classroom this week & next to purchase books for your classroom library. All of the change you collect will be used to purchase books for your library & then Scholastic will donate 1 book to charity for every dollar raised. I will give you more details for this on Monday.
I will send home flyers for the book fair on Wednesday. Also, students will have the chance to pre-order the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid Books, it will be delivered to the school when they go on sale in November.
