I think I made it around to everyone on Tuesday after school, if I missed you please let me know & I will get you started on our contest. The prizes are some beautiful picture books that were donated to the Library by Target. There are copies of The Wizard of OZ, Aesop's Fables, The Night Before Christmas and The Velveteen Rabbit. This contest is voluntary for you to enjoy. You are to think like the Main character of your book & figure out what that character would be thankful for.

I have really enjoyed coming to your classrooms to work with your students on their iPads! There has been high level thinking going on and lots of problem solving. I love seeing the kids get together & helping each other out. There have been super learning conversations going on. I am ready to do more. Also, I am feeling the desperate need to get you guys into the Library & do some read a louds. Let me know when you are ready to come & we will do it. I have plenty of time to share with you. If there are classes in the Library for check out then I can come to your room to read. if I need to.

I am concerned that students aren't reading enough. I am looking for ideas for some kind of contest to get kids reading, if you have any ideas or have participated in something in the past, please share with me.
Remember that students can come to the Library during the day as needed, they don't have to wait for your class to come for their check out time, any time that works for you is fine.
I added a new page to the library website! Under LIBRARY INFO go to LOOK WHAT'S NEW. There they will find a slide show of the books that are new in the library.
